Back to collectionHow to measure your ring size
Measure when your hands are at room temperature (fingers swell in heat and shrink in cold). Use a strip of paper or non-stretch string around the base of the finger where the ring will sit. Mark the overlap, lay flat, and measure the length in millimetres — that is your finger circumference.
- Wrap snugly, not tight, around the finger.
- Measure in millimetres (mm) for the EU chart below.
- If you are between sizes, choose the larger size for wider bands.
- For wide bands (6 mm+), consider half a size larger for comfort.
| EU (mm) | US | UK | Inside diameter (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 44 | 3 | F | 14.0 |
| 46 | 3¾ | G | 14.6 |
| 48 | 4½ | H | 15.2 |
| 50 | 5 | J | 15.8 |
| 52 | 6 | L | 16.5 |
| 54 | 6¾ | M | 17.2 |
| 56 | 7½ | O | 17.8 |
| 58 | 8¼ | Q | 18.4 |
| 60 | 9 | R | 19.0 |
| 62 | 9¾ | T | 19.6 |
EU sizes are based on inside circumference in millimetres. US and UK conversions are industry standards; artisan rings may be offered as one-of-a-kind sizes — see each product for exact measurements.
Necklace lengths
Necklace length changes how a piece sits on the body. Measure an existing necklace you like, or use a string from clasp point to where you want the pendant or chain to fall.
| Style | Length (cm) | Length (in) | Typical fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Choker | 35–40 cm | 14–16 in | Close to the neck |
| Princess | 45–50 cm | 18–20 in | At the collarbone |
| Matinee | 50–60 cm | 20–24 in | Between collarbone and bust |
| Opera | 70–85 cm | 28–33 in | Long line or layered |
Bracelets & bangles
For chain bracelets, measure your wrist snugly and add 1–2 cm (½–¾ in) for a comfortable fit. For rigid bangles, measure the widest part of your hand (around the knuckles) when closed, as the bangle must slide over the hand.
| Size | Wrist (cm) | Wrist (in) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 15–16 cm | 6.0–6.3 in | Narrow wrist |
| S | 16–17 cm | 6.3–6.7 in | Average wrist |
| M | 17–18 cm | 6.7–7.1 in | Average to wider wrist |
| L | 18–19 cm | 7.1–7.5 in | Wider wrist |
| XL | 19–20 cm | 7.5–7.9 in | Broad wrist |
Earrings
Stud and drop earrings are usually described by diameter or drop length on the product page. Standard stud posts suit most pierced ears; heavier sculptural pieces may feel more comfortable with secure backs. If you have metal sensitivities, prefer sterling silver, gold, or niobium posts.
Care by metal
Sterling silver
Sterling silver (925) naturally tarnishes when exposed to air, moisture, and sulfur. Wipe with a soft jewellery cloth after wear. For heavier tarnish, use a mild silver cleaner or lukewarm water with a drop of mild soap — dry thoroughly. Avoid chlorine, hot springs, and household bleach.
Gold & gold alloys
Gold is more resistant to tarnish but can dull from oils and cosmetics. Clean with warm water, mild soap, and a soft brush; pat dry. Avoid abrasive pastes on matte or brushed finishes unless intended for that surface.
Plated & vermeil
Plated finishes (e.g. gold-plated silver) wear over time with friction and chemical exposure. Gently wipe after wear; avoid polishing compounds that remove the top layer. Replating is normal maintenance for plated jewellery.
Recycled & mixed metals
Treat recycled or mixed-metal pieces according to the most delicate metal in the piece. When in doubt, dry storage and gentle cloth cleaning are safest.
Gemstones, pearls & organic materials
Pearls and porous stones (turquoise, opal, emerald, coral) should avoid water, perfume, and ultrasonic cleaners. Wipe pearls with a soft damp cloth only. For set stones, avoid soaking; use a soft brush around settings. Organic materials (bone, wood, resin inclusions) need dry care and stable humidity — avoid prolonged sunlight.
Daily wear & storage
- Put jewellery on last — after perfume, lotion, and sunscreen.
- Remove pieces before swimming, showering, sports, and sleep (especially chains and rings).
- Store each piece separately in a dry pouch or lined box to prevent scratches and tangling.
- Keep silver in an anti-tarnish pouch or with a silica gel packet in low humidity.
- Inspect clasps, posts, and stone settings periodically; address looseness early.
Repairs & questions
Wearable art and one-of-a-kind pieces may not follow standard mass-market sizing. For resizing, repair, or material questions about a specific work, refer to the product page or reach the studio directly.
